ESP32 firmware for a truck tracker. It reads GPS, goes online over LTE, and streams location, speed and overspeed alerts to Firebase. A dashboard can switch tracking on and off remotely.

What's Included

The Problem

A fleet needs to know where each truck is and whether it is speeding, over a cellular link with no Wi-Fi. This firmware turns a LilyGO LTE board and a GPS module into a tracker that reports to Firebase.

By the Numbers

Under the Hood

  1. Highlight 01

    Remote control without polling

Two TLS clients share the modem: one keeps a Firebase stream open for the "active" flag while the other writes data, so the tracker reacts to the dashboard right away.

  2. Highlight 02

    Non-blocking timers

Separate timers run the upload, the overspeed check and the alert-clear limit while GPS parsing and Firebase keep running.

  3. Highlight 03

    Sends only what changed

Overspeed and GPS-fix are written when their state changes, not every loop, which saves cellular data.
