The Problem

Turning a set of construction drawings into a bill of materials is slow, manual quantity take-off. easBOM reads the plans with AI, but keeps the arithmetic and pricing in code, and puts a human review step between what the AI read and the final BOM.

Under the Hood

Highlight 01
Voting to cut hallucinations
Each extraction runs three times and the results are voted on: the median for numbers, the most common value for text, the majority for yes/no. Lists are merged by their marks.

The AI reads, code does the math
A formula engine computes quantities such as hollow blocks from wall area and rebar from members. A validator checks types, geometry and schedule sums before anything is priced.

Prices matched in code, not by the model
A catalog matcher normalises units and scores word overlap against official price catalogs. It replaced free-text matching by the AI, which had been inventing catalog names.

Every page goes to the right specialist
PDF pages are rendered at about 360 DPI so small schedule text stays legible, classified by discipline, and sent to an architectural, structural, electrical or plumbing prompt.

Long AI runs as background jobs
Starting an analysis returns a job ID right away. Progress is saved in Supabase, the app polls it, and a failed run can resume from the second stage.
